Juried Photography Show Intake TONIGHT!


Join us this evening between the hours of 4 and 7 pm at the Croft Farm Arts Center where we will be accepting photographs for consideration in the Juried Photography Show. You may download a prospectus by clicking here.

REQUIREMENTS:
Images may be either from film or digital capture. Please specify the printing technique on the application. Images must have been made within the last 3 years and not previously hung in this exhibit.

All prints must be conventionally framed with glass on plastic equivalent; and wired for hanging. No shadow box or clip frames. Emphasis should be on the image as the art. The Arts Board cannot add or adjust wiring. Improperly framed pieces will be rejected.

Images may contain elements that were not in the scene when the shutter was snapped. All such elements, however, must be the original work of the submitting artist (e.g. not taken from stock photos).

Plain white unsigned and untitled mats and plain black frames are recommended but not required. No decorative accessories on or within the frames.

Maximum framed size is 50"x50." Weight not to exceed 30 lbs.

This is a juried exhibit, NOT all work submitted will be hung.

All photographs are for sale; no commission applies. The Arts Board will place purchasers in contact with artists.

ELIGIBILITY:
Open to all photographers.

ENTRY FEES:
$10 non-refundable consideration fee per submission.

Maximum of 3 (three) submissions per artist.

AWARDS:
First Prize: $250, Second Prize: $100, Third Prize: $50. All awards will be announced during the Opening Reception on Saturday, October 23 from 6:30 - 8 pm. Photographers will remain on display through Sunday, October 31. Additionally, award winners will be exhibited at the Cherry Hill Public Library during the month of November.

You will be notified of acceptance by email. If your art work is not selected to hang, please pick it up: October 21, between 4 - 6 pm. If your art work is selected to hang, please pick it up: November 1-4, between 9 am - 5 pm..

2010-11 Ensemble Series Opens October 31


The Cherry Hill Ensemble Series at Croft Farm returns for the 2010-11 Season with A Tribute to Mario Lanza. Singers from the World Famous Academy of Vocal Arts will perform during this afternoon program.

The Croft Farm Arts Center (100 Bortons Mill Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034) is an intimate 200-seat venue that offers audience members a unique close-up experience with the music and the performers.

Tickets cost $15 ($12 for Cherry Hill seniors with a Gold Card) and may be purchased in the Recreation Department (Room 102 in the Municipal Building, 820 Mercer Street, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002). Scholarships awarded to 2 local high school students

Each year, the Cherry Hill Arts Board gives an award to a graduating senior active in the arts program from Cherry Hill High School East and Cherry Hill High School West. Students are recommended by their teachers and awards are made available through the proceeds from the Cherry Hill Art Blooms events.

On Friday, June 11, 2010, Cherry Hill High School West held their Awards night and Arts Board Chair Gaye Pino was on hand to present senior Esther Phillips with the 2010 Cherry Hill Arts Award.

Photo Gallery - Update

On Saturday, May 15, 2010, the Cherry Hill Arts Board welcomed Philadelphia Orchestra percussionist, Don Liuzzi to the Croft Farm Arts Center as he hosted a Concert for Young Music Lovers: Drums Have Melody.

The children really seemed to enjoy the concert, and afterwards, Mr. Liuzzi let the children try out the drums.

March 21 AVA Performance at Croft Farm SOLD OUT!

The Academy of Vocal Arts performance scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 21 at Croft Farm has sold out. The talented AVA singers will bring yu excerpts from the great opera and operettas, Broadway favorites and the wonderful music of Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy.

Tickets still remain for the May 2 concert featuring members of the Ocean City Pops.

Lunch & a Movie for Seniors featuring the film "Pocketful of Miracles"

Pocketful of Miracles is the story of Apple Annie (Bette Davis), a poor, New York City street vendor whose daughter (Ann Margret) only knows her through letters. When Annie's daughter announces her engagemnet to the son of a Spanish Count, Annie knows she must conceal her true identity. With the help of bootlegging mobster (Glenn Ford), Annie becomes a New York socialite worthy of audience with a count.

This lovely afternoon includes lunch, coffee and dessert before th film.

Tickets cost just $3 in advance or $5 at the door.

DePue Brothers Concert; A Sell-Out

January 31 marked another sell-out performance for The DePue Brothers, as they returned to Croft Farm. Over 200 people were in attendance and enjoyed the music of Jason DePue, Wallace DePue, Don Liuzzo, Kevin MacConnell & Mark Cosgrove.
